backnovember

Trip to Grenoble, my hometown.

My last time was a year ago. I missed my 85 years old Grand Father… It’s always strange for me to walk down these streets I walked by the 1st 20 years of my kklife. I used to find them so boring. It reminded me Melissa from the Chicks on Speed:« small town melancholic romanticised… » she said, on Hell’s track « This is for you ». It was snowing, I could recognize a few faces I’ve seen before, much older. As usual, I felt like a stranger, dressed like a stranger, walking like a stranger. The other day my best friend told me I have the Berlin look now, less girly, rougher. Of course. Impossible to wear fancy shoes in the fucked up sidewalks of the city. I always felt cmmmcomfortable only at my Grand Parents’ place, watching their favorite German TV series like « Derrick» on the coach, or with my old friends, learning new stupid expressions from their own language.

Transmediale festival @Maria Ostbanhof in Berlin.

Oh yeah. It was one of the coolest time I ever had in town… Once more, so lucky I am to be a Berliner, the only city in the world where 600 people are freaking out a Tuesday night on Pan Sonic live! I showed up every single day, scared of missing a part of the program. After finding out Pan Sonic were real rock stars on vodka, I was looking forward to hear Otto Von Schirach from Miami dressed like Sonny Crocket playing in Clockwork Orange, and of course Monolake. They were simply fantastic and inspired me a lot.
When mmmmy turn came on Friday to play, I spent the whole night before checking my records… I was as nervous as I can be when I have to play in such a high level event, especially here. Friends always wonder why as it should be so comfortable to play only 500m from home. I was probably the most « mainstream » DJ of the festival. But I was so honored, it showed me I was officialy part of the family I feel belonging to. There’s nothing more important to me as a DJ. That’s why I never played so much in big raves.

The Hacker

The Hacker was here. We did two tracks together. He he… I wouldn’t have let him on the side for my album ! After all, isn’t he my musical brother ??? It felt like back in the days. We had a lot of fun and ended in Zurich @ Tonimolkerei for a 6h 4 hands set… No need to tell we had enough vodka-taurus to nearly fall on the turntables. We tried this crazy 170 BPM « Frank Sinatra » punk cover I received on MP3 from a mysterious man… Wait and see…

The website is growing fast. I read your comments every day. Your support is really amazing. I just wonder why people who hate me, have nothing better to do than spending their time polluting this space. They oblige me now to start filtering each message. It’s really sad, but I don’t want any war, especially on my web page.

All the very best, and see xyyou next month…

Peace.

Kittin.
